Skinny Jeans Bad For Your Health

Wearing skinny jeans can be bad for your health. Although, they're the only reason I managed to stay in that school boy choir till I was 28.

According to a study tight jeans can leave you angry, aggressive and likely to punch someone if they don't bring you a steak. OK, that is a study I did of just one person. Clarkson's jeans seemed so small I'm sure they were meant for Richard Hammond.

But actual health experts have said that squatting in skinny jeans is a health risk. They reported the case of a 35-year-old woman who did it and couldn't walk again for 4 days. It's such a shame because when you squat in tight jeans it feels like they're taking the strain a bit. It's like resting a plate on your belly, it's perfect ergonomics.

The issue is that the denim cuts off circulation that can make your calves swell. You end up unable to walk, and even worse, you look like you were wearing boot cut jeans.

This modern day trend of wearing ever skinnier jeans is just a con, it was started by jeans companies because skinny jeans cost the same as flares but they need less fabric. They've tricked us into looking like we have tiny little legs all so they can get rich off jean profits. Tut, big denim, eh?

The paper about the 35-year-old woman who suffered the skinny jeans injury was published in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry.

Yep, Psychiatry. Because you'd have to be mad to wear them.

The Apes That Get Drunk

Scientists have discovered a group of booze-loving apes. As a stand-up comedian who plays stag dos I can’t say I’m surprised.

They think this bunch of apes may hold the key to why we enjoy drinking alcohol. As human animals we share some of our behaviour with our close primate relatives; we socialise in a similar way, we learn to use tools and we swing around in tyre-swings flinging out poo at passers-by. (I grew up in the North, remember.)

Experts say this is the first evidence of the long term taking of ethanol in the animal kingdom, thereby disproving the statement “pissed as a newt”.

They observed wild chimpanzees in west Africa over 17 years and watched the primates drink fermented palm sap using a leafy tool as a sponge. This hit the news in the same week when the drinking ban in Magaluf came in and was totally ignored by the tourists. It’s interesting because one news story looks at the behaviour of a bunch of animals who drink, walk round naked and have sex with many partners and the other... sorry, even I got confused about which I was talking about there.

Man Caught Drinking At Work Was A W***er!

A cautionary tale in the news today. It's the story of a worker, struggling through life like the rest of us. One day his bosses found a can or beer under his desk. OK, drinking is bad but you can see why some people who work in offices might need a little something to help them though. You can tell that you need alcohol to deal with co-workers because where's the only place you socialise with them? Yep, the pub.

The company in question had strict rules against drinking at work. The company isn't named in this news story but I think we can guess it's not British Airways.

The worker was written up for having drink at work. Oh, the shame of such a warning, and the entry on his permanent record could've affected his career success in the future, but thankfully the truth can save him, he wasn't drinking at work. That wasn't a real can of beer. It was a sex toy.

Oh, well, that's OK then. As long as you weren't drinking at work.

I don't know if the company had any rules about not having a crafty wank on the job. If it's not in the HR manual he's got them banged to rights.

Some may say that a can you stick your knob in is somehow worse than a can with beer in it – it certainly makes the need for a coaster rather worrying – but what do they know?
