War On Internet Porn

The Daily Mail's front page says, "Online Porn: The Fight Must Go On".

This is a campaign the Mail has been running to try to stop children getting access to adult images on the web. It's a good campaign, but they going about it all wrong. They're upset after ministers refused to bring in an automatic block on internet porn.

Whoa! Let's not throw the babes out with the bath water. If we want to stop kids seeing dodgy images we don't have to ban the dodgy images. Why aren't we thinking about banning the kids?

We do it when it comes to alcohol. We don't want children drinking, but we don't ban all drink, we ban children from going into pubs. We should do the same with porn. The Internet should join aeroplanes, coffee shop and the 1970s on the list of "Things That Would Be Better If There Were No Kids There".

Children shouldn't really have free access to the internet anyway. It's only because parents buy their young 'ens the latest iPhones and tablets or whatever, and then they moan that their children have access to porn. Here's an idea. Don't buy your 8-year-old something that is meant for a grown up. It's up there with "don't buy your 8-year-old a Renault Megane".

"But he's my little angel, and he can have what he wants," a parent may wail. "Well maybe he should learn to be told no once in a while," would be the response. The Daily Mail says that seeing adult images could make some children grow up to be sex pests. Never learning to take no for an answer could also cause the same outcome.

But don't worry, even if they automatically block access to porn sites, and you don't have to guts to call up your ISP to ask them to please give you your porn back, you can still find websites that show near naked images of the female form and exploit the bodies of women. Have you see all the side-boob, beach bikini bodies and 'getting out of a car upskirt photos' there are on the Daily Mail website?
